Packet Pickup: Friday, May 24, 2013 - 6:00pm at the race site (Sombrero Beach)
Race Start: Saturday, May 25th, 2013 - 8:00am (we recommend arriving before 7:00am to setup your area in transition, etc.)

Download our Triathlon Checklist to make sure you don't forget anything on race day. Note that this list is generic to all triathlon races and some items may not apply to MaraTri's event.
Distances and Categories
MaraTri has two race distances: "Mini" and "Sprint." The Sprint distance consists of two laps of each Mini distance leg. You also have the option of racing as a Relay team (two or three people).
Mini Triathlon
400 meter swim, 6.8 mile bike, 1.55 mile run
Sprint Triathlon
800 meter swim, 13.6 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
>> Don't want to swim? No problem. The biathlon category will substitute a run for the triathlon swim, so you will run-bike-run instead of swim-bike-run.
Mini Biathlon
1.55 mile run, 6.8 mile bike, 1.55 mile run
Sprint Biathlon
3.1 mile run, 13.6 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
How it All Started
The Florida Keys is a fantastic location for triathletes, as the water is the warmest in the U.S. year-round. Our Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail, that extends the length of the Keys (over 100 miles), is a cyclist's paradise. And running across islands under palm trees is a beautiful thing... MaraTri (short for Marathon Triathlon) was founded by two Marathon locals with a passion for fun events and endurance sports. The first race was simply a glorified training exercise for the local community on the sport(s) of triathlon, but it was a huge success. The event continues to grow, each race being bigger and better than the last, and every participant from every race, came and left with huge smiles. We are dedicated to making MaraTri one of the best run races anywhere. Come race through paradise with us! See you at the starting line!
Charity
MaraTri is dedicated to supporting local youth athletics. All race proceeds will benefit local school athletic programs, and students directly through scholarships. Please show your support by registering to race, or help volunteer!

We believe that a race is only as strong as its volunteers. We're looking for energetic, dedicated volunteers to help keep our course safe and fun for all our racers. Marathon is located in the heart of the Florida Keys. It's a beautiful location with fresh local seafood restaurants, amazing coral reefs and fishing just off shore, and low-key atmosphere that is a perfect cool down after a fun race at the beach.
